How important are the first ten pages of your script?

Paramount!  No, not the studio.  Paramount as in most important.  A number one.

Susan Kouguell hit the sweet spot here.  I can’t tell you how many times I had to eviscerate a script.  Reading these common complaints was like she bugged our offices.  While most scripts earned at least one or two complaints, sometimes that list of complaints was like a beat sheet for me.

Kouguell’s seminar is next week but sign up closes on Sunday.  It ain’t free.  Most aren’t.  But I’d say if this article makes sense to you, the seminar will be most enlightening.

And remember what GI Joe says: Knowing is half the battle.
