How to approach the dreaded interview question: “What’s your biggest weakness?”

interview-jobThe interview’s going great.  Smiles all around.  Jovial banter.  Then the hiring manager throws out this question: “What would you say is your biggest weakness?”

Weakness?  I’m trying to sell myself here to you and now you’re asking me to sour the sale?  Is this some reverse psychology stuff like my parents used to throw at me?

In actuality, there is a lot that can be gathered about a job candidates from this particular question.  And it’s why it has become a common question in interviews.
