AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL – The Writers Festival

Submission DEADLINE: May 20

Judges: Writers Guild of America, East will provide a panel of established industry writers to judge the winner of the Drama category, Enderby Entertainment who will be looking for scripts with an original concept and distinctive voice that can be produced for under $5 million and Frank Darabont’s Darkwoods Productions will review this year’s top Sci-Fi scripts.

All entrants include screenplay coverage: receive free reader comments.

Semifinalist and Finalist Judges include representatives from companies like Madhouse Entertainment, Oasis Media Group, Mosaic Media, ABC Studios, Paradigm Agency, Di Bonaventura Pictures, Kopelson Entertainment, Nickelodeon, Escape Artists at Sony, Washington Square Arts, CAA, UTA, WME, DreamWorks, Pixar, and many more.

Award packages include cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, reimbursements for travel and lodging while at AFF, the Bronze Typewriter Award, and access to and recognition by some of the most important writers, agents, producers and filmmakers in the industry.

    1. Hey Susan,

      Just read this and not sure what newsletter you were referring to. Do you mean the weekly email from wordpress about blogs followed?
      Lana had posted this on the 19th as a last minute reminder for grads about the impending closing date that was the next day.
      Thank you for the heads up. Good to know that the weekly email goes out on Mondays for future posts.
